We provide certified copy services to confirm that a copy of your document is a true, complete, and accurate reproduction of the original presented at your appointment. This service is ideal when original documents cannot be submitted but a verified copy is required for business, legal, or international use.
What Is a Certified Copy?
A certified copy is a document that has been reviewed and formally certified by a notary to match the original.
It’s important to note:
We certify the copy, not the content of the document
The original document must be present at the time of the appointment
Common Use Cases
Clients request certified copies for:
Business agreements and contracts
Employment or HR documentation
Medical or educational records
Identification documents (where permitted)
Documents being prepared for apostille processing
How the Process Works
1. Document Review - The original document is reviewed for completeness and condition
2. Copy Verification - The copy is carefully compared to the original
3. Certification - A formal notarial certificate is completed
4. Finalization - The document is signed, sealed, and returned to you
Important Limitations (Texas Law)
In Texas, notaries are limited in what documents they can certify.
We cannot certify copies of:
Birth certificates
Marriage licenses
Death certificates
Divorce decrees
Court-issued documents
Any publicly recordable document
These must be obtained directly from the issuing agency.
If you’re unsure whether your document qualifies, we’re happy to review it before scheduling.
